Classical Academy QB Sawyer Bray Signs with University of La Verne

Classical Academy quarterback Sawyer Bray is taking his talents to the next level, officially signing to play college football at the University of La Verne.

Bray led the Caimans to a 6-5 season and a perfect 3-0 run in Pacific League play, capturing the league championship in the process. The senior signal-caller had a breakout year, highlighted by a school-record six-touchdown performance against Orange Glen. He wrapped up the season as the Pacific League Offensive Player of the Year and was named First Team All-League.

Bray finished the season with 1,329 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and only five interceptions, commanding the offense with precision and poise. His ability to make plays through the air and on the ground made him a nightmare for opposing defenses and a clear leader on the field.

“It’s been an amazing year,” Bray said. “I’m grateful for my coaches, teammates, and family who believed in me and pushed me to get better every day.”

He now heads to the Division III Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), joining a La Verne program that’s looking to reload with young talent. The SCIAC is gaining momentum in recent years, with teams like Azusa Pacific and Whittier adding to the competition.

As Bray prepares to suit up for the Leopards, Classical Academy fans can look back on a record-setting season from one of the school’s all-time greats under center.
